The FIRN is a classic ice axe for easy and medium-diffi culty high mountain tours. The straight, aluminum shaft has a low weight and can be optimally held thanksto the ergonomic shape with a sandblasted, anodized fi nish. The lower section has been additionally roughened to provide even greater grip. The stable steelpick effortlessly penetrates hard snow, fi rn, and ice, plus is easy to hold when using the ice axe for support thanks to its ergonomically shaped head. The large,stable adze made from corrosion-resistant steel enables effi cient, rapid work when cutting steps or digging a T-slot anchor. The middle of the adze is at a rightangle to the straight shaft section, further increasing the impact when striking. The cut-outs in the adze help reduce the ice axe’s overall weight. The large cut-out on the pick is designed to effortlessly hold even large carabiners.
